Morgan went to Ohio with my parents on Thursday night. Since she was going to be gone all day Friday and much of Saturday, we decided to make our homeschooling day look a bit different on Friday. We did a few subjects and Marissa took her math test, but then we decided to play some games together. Nolan was playing with puzzles on the floor and so it seemed like the perfect time to play a game of battleship together.
As it turns out, Nolan saw us setting up the board and decided that he wanted to play battleship with us too. I told Marissa that I would help him and we started playing. He sort of gets the idea...but for the first game or two, he would look where we had our boats and then those were the very numbers he would call out. Of course Marissa's boats weren't in those same spaces so we'd get a "miss" but it wasn't too long before Marissa figured out what he was doing and she would call the very same thing the next time and ended up beating us badly.
Thankfully he's a quick learner and a couple of games later, he finally got the idea and we played a much better game.
I love watching the kids learn something new!!
