Now that competitive swimming is complete for both girls (Morgan has been sitting out for a month), she asked if we could start going to open swim once or twice a week so she can get some laps in and stay in shape for summer swim. Nolan has been waiting so patiently for swimming season to be over so we'd have the time to come back to open swim as well. With divisional ending over the weekend, we were at open swim on Monday night.
One difference about heading off to open swim this time around was that Morgan drove us there!! Talk about a big change in this house... how bittersweet is it to sit in the passenger seat as my first-born drives us around. (How did we get here?) She's been driving us each day to pick Marissa up from track practice and then she drove us to open swim twice this week.
Nolan had so much fun and didn't want to get out of the pool.
While Nolan was playing on the other side of the pool and jumping off the diving board, Morgan was swimming laps and getting her "lungs back". LOL She said that she lost a lot of ground in just that month off and feels like she's starting all over again.
On Thursday night, Morgan drove Melayna, Nolan and I over to the high school for open swim. Unfortunately, once we got here, we saw that they had cancelled open swim indefinitely because of the coronavirus and we aren't sure when we'll be able to get in again. (Speaking of the corona cancellations... Marissa's state band competition was cancelled for this weekend, Melayna's movie night / fundraiser is cancelled for tomorrow night and the high school HSR meet down at Indiana Wesleyan was also cancelled. We are expecting our schools to close down next week and Marisa's middle school dance will most likely be cancelled next Friday. There's a whole lot of disappointment going on in this house....
Since it looks like we'll be in the house a lot more without anything to do, I better get a disney membership and stock up on toilet paper. LOL
