Start to Fall Break // Taylor Swift Eras Tour

Surprisingly Morgan had her fall break the same time as the other three did this year.  Unfortunately, with Marissa's cross country post-season schedule, we knew that we wouldn't be able to go anywhere as a family since she would still have practice every day so we just planned to spend time together as a family around the house.

Morgan finished up her classes on Friday afternoon but we had to wait to head up to campus until after I had picked up Melayna and Nolan from school.  Then Noel and I left them at the house and headed up north to pick her up while Marissa was at work.  Thankfully traffic was pretty light and although we had driven through light rain most of the way there, we arrived at her dorm right around 6:00.  She took a few minutes to finish getting ready and then we grabbed her stuff and headed into Fort Wayne to get Paneras for dinner.  I know it had only been five weeks since we had seen her in person, but as soon as we saw her in person, I realized how much I truly had missed her.  Seriously,  it felt like forever and we definitely enjoyed catching up with her over dinner.  After sitting at the restaurant and talking for a while, we headed over to the movie theater where Morgan had bought tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras tour for the three of us.  I can't say that Noel or I are "Swifties", but we'd do just about anything to hang out with our oldest and do something that she wanted to do.

We even had "T.S." friendship bracelets (that Morgan made for us) to prove it!  LOL

There were a couple of other Dads at the showing, but Morgan's Dad may get the award for being the most excited about it.  LOL

And then the carefully multi-colored nails.

So, although it seemed a bit silly to pay $19.89 per ticket to watch a live concert just up on the big movie screen, I do have to admit that it was tons better than paying the expensive ticket prices to experience the concert live.  After all, we had front row seats to a professionally filmed concert and our seats reclined and we didn't have to worry about the weather or any other unruly concert goers.

The movie was almost as long as the real Eras concert so the three of us finally arrived back home after 1:00 a.m. and went right to bed.  (Marissa would run in the XC sectionals first thing on Saturday morning and we all needed a little sleep before then.)

All in all, it was a great start to our Fall Break.
