Summer is here. And along with summer hours come some new activities...and a return to some old ones.

Nolan started something new the first full week of June as he attended Orchestra Camp at the high school. He said that he was interested in learning to play the Cello, so we began renting a cello from Plum Music and he went to Cello Camp each day that week. I remember telling Noel on that first Monday that he looked so nervous as he walked into the band room at the high school - and it made me nervous for him. But just 90 minutes later, he came back out with the biggest smile on his face and a brand new cello. Each day that week, he came home and played a new song for us and by Friday, he had learned four new beginner songs and he said that playing the cello made him really happy. LOL
Thank goodness his carrying case can be carried like a back pack because it's almost bigger than he is.
He still has time to keep us laughing though as he often dresses up in various costumes or makes his own costumes as he plays around the house. I'm not even sure what was happening recently when he came up covered in eyes and told me that he would be "keeping his eyes on me". LOL
And then another costume for another day...

Melayna has picked up a few more hours in the evenings at her job at the nursing home this summer. She is also taking two summer school classes (US History I and II) online so she tries to do several lessons each day in order to finish by the July deadline. Laynie will also be running cross country again this fall so she has practice every morning from 6-7:30 a.m.
Don't worry.... it's not all work and no play for her though, as she has also been trying to do some painting in her free time and still gets together with her friends to play pickle ball or do some shopping.

With summer school started, Marissa has gone back to the high school pool to teach Tiger Swim School and to continue life guarding during summer school and open swim hours. During the Tiger Swim School, she teaches six different 30 minute sessions each morning with a variety of brand new swimmers up to the more advanced. One of the parents recognized her and sent me this picture from early in the week.
Marissa has also been heading to the YMCA almost every morning before work begins so that she can have time to work out in the weight room and to swim the necessary weekly yardage that is required of the college swimmers each week.

With several days of PT and OT observation completed early in her summer break, Morgan started her paid summer job back with the Parks Department a couple of weeks ago. She is life guarding once again at two of the local lakes. They are only a couple of weeks into the summer and the police are definitely on speed dial as there is always plenty of drama happening. Oh well, at least it makes the days go by faster.
Noel and I stay plenty busy working and driving the kiddos around but we have tried to find time to get outside and enjoy some warm fires in our fire pit and some beautiful sunsets down in the village.

Noel also headed to Virginia with his mom and two of his siblings this past weekend to attend the memorial celebration of his Aunt Marcia. It was a really quick trip down on Friday and returning on Sunday but he was able to spend some time with his uncle and that was really meaningful to him.
And while Noel has been gone the past two weekends, the girls and I have attended quite a few graduation open houses. (I think we have attended 14 so far with another 11 or 12 coming up). I haven't taken pictures at any of them except for this past weekend when we went to Isaac's. We have attended the same church as his family his entire life and it's been fun to watch Isaac and Marissa grow up together and look out for each other over the years.
