My Birthday Weekend // Part Two

Our family has definitely outgrown a traditional hotel room, so instead of paying for two rooms for the night, I was able to find a camper through the airbnb site that I reserved as our place to stay.  The description said that it only had room for five, and it was definitely "cozy" inside, but since we were only planning to sleep inside the camper and the hosts also had a screened in porch and a large backyard, they agreed to let us stay the night there as there was plenty of room for a hammock, a tent, or extra air mattresses.

Here are the pictures of the camper from the Airbnb website:

We quickly moved our bags into the camper and then everyone else headed up to the screen porch and the outdoor grills to make the hot dogs, while I stayed back at the camper and made some mac and cheese.  Then we all met up at the tables outside and enjoyed our dinner together.

Like I said, it was a little cozy and we definitely had to take turns going through the door.  LOL

After dinner, we decided to drive through the town and look for a small ice cream shop.  We found this little place on the edge of town just past the high school.  We had such high hopes, but unfortunately, it was mostly soft ice cream and we just really love our little ice cream shoppe back home so although we ate it all, we all agreed that it wasn't the best ice cream that we've had.

I scream, you scream.  We all scream (and jump) for ice cream!!

By the time that we finished our ice cream and exploring the local town, it was starting to get dark.  We decided to spend a few more minutes enjoying the quiet backyard area and then our hosts came out and turned on the hot tub, which was definitely a hit.

On Sunday morning, we all slept in a bit longer than normal and then while Noel was up grilling out cinnamon rolls on the grill, per my birthday request, a couple of the kiddos came to join me in bed and serenade me with birthday wishes.

Good morning Angie and welcome to being 52!!

We had to be out of the camper by 11:00 so we packed up our things and then after cleaning up the camper a bit, we drove back over to the Turkey Run area where we would hike a short trail at Turkey Run and then finish out our adventures at Shades State Park, which was a totally new place for us.

More pictures to come.....
