Spring Break Trip 2025 // Tybee Island, GA // Day Seven: Bonaventure Cemetery and Lots of Beach Time

Noel spent his final morning of vacation at the beach watching the sunrise.  He also went for a long walk and found a lot of great shells.  Then he went to grab some breakfast at a local restaurant that was highly recommended, before coming back to the house to see how we all wanted to spend our last day on the island.  Since we had explored the entire island already and didn't really have any other ideas, I mentioned that maybe we could drive back over to Savannah and walk through the Bonaventure Cemetery.  One of our friends had suggested that we visit the cemetery and told us that the flowers in the spring were absolutely stunning.

Here are two examples of what we envisioned the cemetery to look like this time of year:

Unfortunately for us, we arrived a week or two too late as most of the flowers had already bloomed and then gone away.  The trees were still amazing, and we had a nice walk through the cemetery looking at the difference in all of the new stones compared to the older parts.  But I admit, I was a bit disappointed.

After everyone was finished walking around the cemetery, we headed back to the house and the beach for one last afternoon in the sun and waves.

The sun was beautiful but due to the wind,  the air temperature was chilly at times so I put on a sweatshirt and just read my book while the others went for a walk or played in the sand.  The waves weren't nearly as big today as on Thursday and the tide had gone back out, so the kids had to go out pretty far to get completely wet.

We finally went back to the house for dinner and then after dinner, we took a few minutes to clean up the kitchen, take out the trash, and begin to gather up our clothes and belongings since we would be leaving for home really early in the morning.  Then we decided that we would head out to Fishermans Pier for one last night of pictures and watching the sunset.  And as far as sunsets go, God really gave us an extra good one, that's for sure!

Nolan found some really good shells, and a really large rock.  He told me that he thinks the rock was either Dolomite or Syenite.  In any case, whatever it was, it was really sparkly and he was excited to have found it.

I asked my boys to pose for me...and this is what I got.

Can you smile at least?

Or maybe just fist bump?
Anything at all?
Okay, never mind.  LOL

Victoria wanted to take some pictures for her social media page, so her and Melayna were down the beach a little ways working on those.  Nolan eventually went down to join them and then a few minutes later, they all walked back our direction and we finished out our night together.

And then the sun went down on another great vacation....
