"Hello"

I took Nolan to the park the other day while his sisters were volunteering at the library.  At one point I caught him standing here and singing "Hello from the other side!  I must have called a thousand times!"

'Guess I'm an Adele fan and he's catching on!!

Saturday's Park Day

Early forecasts were calling for rain all day Saturday but thankfully, it didn't arrive until after dark giving us plenty of time to play outside.   Morgan was still in Ohio visiting her cousin and Marissa had been invited to a "Cupcakes and Canvas" birthday party at a house about 30 minutes away so we decided to find a park to play at while she was at the party.  We found one just down the road that I hoped the two younger kids could enjoy and we played there for almost an hour.

After they were getting bored of Akron's park, I decided we could just get back in the van and drive a few miles north to another park.  I thought I remembered it being larger and thought it would be a fun  way to finish waiting for Marissa.  I was right.  The kids LOVED this one so much more and we stayed there for about 90 minutes before picking Marissa back up.

'Look Mom, I'm on top of the world!!'

He honestly thought this tire was the best thing ever.  He would climb up it and jump off or sometimes he would use it as a slide to come down.  I guess we can do away with all of the modern playground equipment and just bury a bunch of tractor tires instead!!  LOL

And Melayna told me that her goal was to "show off her muscles" to all of the other kids that were there.

Oh that girl!!

Another Park Day

Our family is obsessed with American Ninja Warrior.

Okay, so "obsessed" may be an exaggeration...slightly.  But it is the one and only show that we all sit down as a family and try to watch together.  Then the kids love trying to turn ordinary parks and playgrounds into training facilities to duplicate what they saw on the most recent show.  Last week that is exactly what happened.  We had friends over to play for the day and while they were here, we went over to a local park where they still have "old school" playground equipment.  You know, the "dangerous" stuff that my family loves!!

At first it looked like they were playing as the designers of the park would have planned them to play... (well, almost)!!

Then the training (and the real fun) began...

Noel and the kids have started looking at plans and blueprints for an official warrior course that he can build for the kids in our backyard.  So who knows, maybe this warrior training will start to happen a little bit closer to home very soon...
