Marissa's senior prom was last Saturday night (May 11th) and I have to warn you... there are a LOT of pictures coming in this post!

I do have to say that Saturday wasn't all about the prom. Noel and Melayna were over in Plymouth at the JV conference track meet so Morgan and Marissa invited me to go out for breakfast with them in honor of Mother's Day. They said that it was their treat and we had such a great time together eating and laughing. Then we came home and after a quick nap, it was time for Marissa to get her hair done and the prom preparation to get started.
We had our friend Kylee come over again this year to do Marissa's hair. She always does such an amazing job!
Tyler got to our house right as Marissa was finished getting ready and I was able to get his expression as she walked up the stairs and he saw her for the first time. Priceless!!
She didn't want him to spend money on a corsage so he brought her an entire bouquet instead.
A few minutes later, Mike and Joni arrived and we headed outside to take pictures with the four of them as they would have to leave to make it back home in time for a dinner that they needed to attend. Thankfully, as we were taking those pictures, Noel and Laynie arrived home from their track meet so Noel quickly took off his hat and joined in.

Morgan says to "Pardon the shoes...they were the only pair closest to the door". LOL
I was looking at these pictures and wondering why she looked so tall compared to me as we are normally the same height. Then I remembered she was wearing four inch heels to make her taller when she stands next to Tyler. LOL
She's not usually taller than Noel, either.
... Or stronger. LOL

After the parents were finished being in all of the pictures, it was time to have a little fun with just the two of them. Mike and Joni left and Noel went into the house and I was able to spend the next 20 minutes or so taking a pictures of just the two of them.

They both looked so nice and they really do have such a good time together.
"Let's see some of your best dance moves!" LOL
Okay, just a couple of more serious poses before you leave.

They had a few more minutes to wait with us and then it was time to meet up with their friends for more pictures and dinner.
"Bye guys. Have a great time!"

They met up with Marissa's swimming friends (and dates) and spent a short while taking more pictures, but it was pretty windy off of the lake, so they mostly look cold and wind blown. LOL

After all of the pictures were finally done, the group drove separately and met back up at Salvatori's as a group to eat dinner at one long table together. Marissa and Tyler sat across from the table from each other but before their meal came, Tyler reached across the table and took Marissa's hand to pray for them as he usually does. Marissa said that she didn't think anything about it as it was just normal for them when eating together, but when the bill came, another family had paid for their two meals because they were so impressed and encouraged to see a young couple praying before their meal. Especially since they were in a group of friends like they were and no one else in the group had joined them in prayer. Marissa and Tyler both thought that was a really neat experience and they were both blessed by that for sure. Marissa said that they made sure to stop by the couple's table on their way out the door and thank them.
All in all, even with the prom tent being blown down and the dance being moved last minute to the high school lobby area, a great time was had and Senior Prom 2024 was a definite success!!
