Our Trip to Florida // Day Four: Sunset Pictures Galore

Wednesday night would be our first opportunity to check out the sunset since the other nights had been so foggy or dreary and the sun was hardly showing.  Marissa and I headed down to the beach as soon as we got back to the condo and we definitely took plenty of pictures and just sat and enjoyed the beautiful colors as the sun set before us.

What a gorgeous night!

Our Trip to Florida // Day Four: A Sunburned Walk

After spending a couple of wonderful hours on the beach, we headed inside to grab lunch and to read or spend time calling back home for a bit.  Around 3:00 in the afternoon, Mom mentioned taking a walk on one of the boardwalks that they enjoy visiting.  It sounded like a great idea so we drove over there to walk and to enjoy the beautiful scenery.  Round trip, it was about a two mile walk and you could have added another small portion onto the trail to make it longer if you wanted.

"I spy with my little eye some sunburned feet and legs!"  LOL

There were actually quite a few people swimming this time but that would definitely be a "no" for me.  Especially after the wildlife sign that was at the beginning of the trail.  I really don't care to swim with snakes and alligators, thank you!

After a nice walk like that, is anyone up for Whataburger?  LOL

Our Trip to Florida // Day Four: Day on the Beach

With all of the bad weather now past, we woke up to a beautiful sunny sky on Wednesday morning.  My Dad had already gone down to the beach to reserve a couple of beach chairs so Marissa and I quickly ate breakfast and then we grabbed our beach towels and headed down.  We started off by walking down the beach for a bit and then we came back to enjoy reading and wading in the ocean.   The sun was bright.  The breeze was blowing.  It was absolutely gorgeous!  After a while, Dad came down to walk and to sit with us and we were able to spend a couple of hours soaking up the sun.  'Possibly a bit too much sun as our bright red skin would later reveal.

Our Trip to Florida // Day Three: Rainy Day at the Pier and Books a Million

We woke up to a chilly and rainy Tuesday morning.  Marissa went down to run three or four miles on the fitness room's treadmill while my Dad got his walking in by walking up and down six floors of the parking garage.

A few hours later in the day, we all drove down the road a bit to some souvenir shops so Marissa could get a sweatshirt as a souvenir from her trip.

(Sent this picture to Morgan...as a little inside joke)

Somehow in all the goofiness, I didn't even get a picture of her real sweatshirt but it's a really nice one that she can wear for years to come.

After doing a little shopping, we decided to brave the chilly air and to walk out onto the pier.  'Maybe not the best day to do that since the waves were too choppy for anyone to fish -- or really to enjoy being out there long.  Still fun to see the waves crashing against the pier and also a couple of people trying to surf a bit.  Quite a few birds were flying overhead and swooping down to catch some fish so that was entertaining to watch.

We would also spend some time at a bookstore (where Marissa picked up more than a couple of books) and then we grabbed dinner at Cracker Barrel.  Then it was back home for the night so Marissa could do homework and the rest of us could just relax.  The forecast showed that all of the gloomy weather was finally passing through and the next two days were looking to be gorgeous.
