Melayna's Second Senior Session // Thistleberry Farms

Melayna wanted a senior session in an open field of wildflowers, so a couple of weeks ago I took her up to Thistleberry Farms near South Bend, IN and we spent the morning taking all of these pictures for her senior portfolio.  I was a little concerned with how they would turn out since it was almost 100 degrees that day and these would be taken in direct sunlight, but it was the only time when she didn't have to work and would fit into our busy summer schedule.  We had to get pretty creative at times with deflecting light and taking advantage of what little shade we had, but in the end we were actually able to get some really really pretty pictures for her and I love how these turned out.

I am glad that she was a good sport about it.  I absolutely cannot wait to get a couple of these printed out and hung up on our wall.

Outtakes from a Senior Session

"How about these, Mom?  Can I put one of these poses on my graduation announcement"?

I know that it seems really early to be taking senior pictures, especially since Melayna just finished her junior year a few days ago.  But with the track season ending, we both knew that the track will be cleaned up and all of the hurdles will be put away into storage soon.  If Melayna wanted pictures on the track and in her uniform, we would need to get them done sooner than later, so we headed out at the end of last week and finished up the first of her sessions.

Enjoy these fun pictures that highlight Melayna's silly side...and who knows, a couple silly pictures may just end up being used on her announcement next spring.  But I'm still thankful that we got a lot of other great ones that I will post later.

A Final Set of Senior Pictures

As we are preparing for Marissa's upcoming open house and trying to get her invites designed for that, Marissa asked if we could go out and do one last session of senior pictures.  We probably spent about 90 minutes walking around in order to finish them up, (and I probably took about 90 more pictures), but I'm happy with the results.

Disclaimer:  I'm not sure why they are showing up so blurry here because they were really clear coming off my camera.

Look for your invites to arrive in the mail soon.

Marissa's Senior Pictures // Session Two // Downtown

I have been really busy this school year taking senior pictures for several other families and friends and so despite the fact that I took Marissa's outdoor session several weeks ago, I just finished editing them this weekend.

However, in honor of #seniorsunday, today seems like a great day to reveal Marissa's outdoor pictures from our downtown locations.  We had so much fun walking around downtown together as we scouted out fun places to stop, (and she even got a couple of whistles from time to time).  'Not sure that she was really impressed by that kind of attention, but we did get a few good laughs out of it.

I'm so blessed to share these moments with my girls.  Moments that I'll look back on and cherish forever.

This one was just for fun - definitely not one that we'll share on any senior graduation announcements or anything.  LOL  (She just wanted to document her weight room progress.)

This year is already just flying by.  I'm trying to soak it all in, truly I am, because I know that if I blink only for a moment, it's going to be over.
